In 2018 the main contractor who was using Viewpoint For Projects (VFP) on the Midland Metropolitan Hospital went into liquidation, leaving the Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust with a half-constructed hospital. This resulted in 'The Trust' engaging with Balfour Beatty who inherited VFP and all the project data that went with it.
