"The flexibility the cloud version of Vista gives us is great. If we
need to add more users or add a new location or change licensing,
we can easily do that now," Heinle said. "And all of our users can
simply log in wherever they are. They can log in at work, they can
go home and log in from there. They can go to a coffee shop and
log in. I don't think you can put a dollar amount on flexibility, but
it's just been huge."
Heinle noted that after attending one of Trimble Viewpoint's recent
Collaborate user conferences and getting a sense of everything
that Trimble Viewpoint has been working on with regard to cloud-
based technologies, it became obvious that making the move
was a must. "You've got to go to the cloud—that's where business
is going. It's better, it's faster, it's more secure and it gives you
more flexibility. You see the vision Trimble Viewpoint has and it
made perfect sense. All of those Trimble Viewpoint upgrades, SQL
upgrades, server upgrades and database maintenance—we don't
have to worry about any of that stuff anymore."
Helmsing added that she wouldn't hesitate to recommend Trimble
Viewpoint to help navigate contractors' cloud transitions. "We have
seen some really great things from Trimble Viewpoint just over the
last year. We're still big fans of their products."
