Gentoo is a property business based in Sunderland that's dedicated to delivering high quality social housing stock for the Wearside area. Gentoo Sunderland is responsible for delivering core housing management services and maintenance to approximately 70,000 customers in 30,000 homes. In its first five years of operation Gentoo invested over £400 million into the community and property to improve the area's housing stock. To deal with such large and varied housing stock, the company is required to manage many different teams with varying skill sets, whilst remaining flexible enough to meet the needs and expectations of customers and partners as part of a planned scheme of improvements as well as on an ad-hoc basis. After successfully utilising the Viewpoint For Projects™ platform to manage maintenance of its portfolio, Gentoo extended the agreement to include utilising the solution to run the management processes of its design and build department. So now Viewpoint For Projects is used throughout the whole process from start to finish. The solution allows the design team to work in a quick and efficient manner on a consistently changing project, yet we don't have any problems with ensuring we have the right revision or face delays in making sure everyone is working with new revisions. Overall, Viewpoint For Projects gives us greater document control and drastically reduces our printing costs."
