As project managers on the Silverburn retail and leisure space, the largest purpose built regional development in Scotland, Heery recognized that using a collaboration solution was essential to effectively managing a construction project of that size and duration. The one-million square foot development was designed by international architects, Building Design Partnership (BDP).The $593 million project has over 110 retail outlets, boasting two 100,000+ square foot department stores along with a 50,000 square foot retailer and 2,000 car parking spaces. The vibrant design includes a unique winter garden area where retailers and shoppers can eat, drink, and relax while enjoying the surroundings of a tropical garden, stream, and splashing waterfall. In order to provide effective project management at each stage of the project life cycle, Heery chose to use Viewpoint For Projects. A major benefit to Heery was the solution's revision control feature that manages all versions of documents and drawings. The feature was used on the project to ensure that every member of the team was working from the same revision.
