What is Viewpoint Help?

Viewpoint Help is a great resource where Trimble Viewpoint product documentation can be found. This is where customers can find articles on products, how-tos, reference materials, release notes, videos, getting started materials, and much more. We aim to provide our customers with a unified experience where everything they need can be found on one spot.

Are all Trimble Viewpoint products in Viewpoint Help?

For the most part, yes. This includes JobPac, Viewpoint For Projects, and Viewpoint Field View. ProContractor and Viewpoint Estimating are currently being migrated over and will be coming soon, so keep an eye out.

In addition to product information, we also have quick links available for customers to easily access additional customer success resources including Viewpoint Academy and The Network.

If someone is new to their Trimble Viewpoint product, where do you recommend they start in Viewpoint Help?

There are two different ways to get started. From inside the software, click on the “Help” menu. This will take you over to Viewpoint Help and allow you to click through high level articles to learn about the product. You can easily learn about topics that apply to your position and then click into more specific topics as you grow.

The other option is to head straight to the website. From there, just click into the product your organization is using and select the topic you are interested in learning more about. Either option is great for beginners, it more so depends on whether or not you have access to the product.

Are there any Viewpoint Help features that customers seem to be underutilizing?

There are a few actually. To start, all articles and resources can be printed or grouped into a PDF. If you click the print option, these selections can be selected in the pop-up menu. This is a great tool to use if you or your team benefit from a hardcopy manual.

Viewpoint Help also provides a great search function. Through this updated and improved feature, you can search Viewpoint Help for the specific topic and product you are looking for. The search filter can be broken down by product, content type, product area, and more, all to narrow the search and help you find exactly what you need. You can also search across multiple products at one time.

We also have several share options available. You can share product information and articles across your social networks, or easily share helpful articles with your co-workers. This is a great way to spread knowledge!

How is Viewpoint Help different from the Viewpoint Customer Portal?

Customers should use the Customer Portal for any troubleshooting, workarounds, or support needs. Viewpoint Help should be used to learn about products from official product documentation.

We work closely with product management to keep information updated so users always have access to the latest product information. Think of Viewpoint Help as the “standard,” this information will tell you how the product should be working and help you learn how to use the product better.
